Performance Sales and Service was established in Lake Placid, Florida by Jene and Darin Whitaker in 1978. It was built on quality service and close customer relationships. Performance started as just a small boat sales and repair shop carrying Mariner Outboards, Hurst Bass Boats, Sabre Fishing Boats, and Smoker Craft Boats. The original team at Performance were skilled gear-heads that sold and repaired boats during the workweek while building race boats and race cars that competed in weekend racing events all around the state.

In the mid 80’s, we expanded our existing service center and added a much-needed custom welding and machine shop. This addition allowed us to set up more diagnostic equipment, machines, and welders to fabricate parts and modify engines to meet each customer’s needs. Our machine shop and state of the art service center is what sets Performance apart from most other boat dealers.

The continued growth and success of Performance Sales and Service thrives on loyalty of both our customers and dedicated team of employees. Our mission for nearly 30 years has been to provide friendly service at a fair price. We will strive to accommodate all of our customers in any of there boating needs and look forward to doing the same for you.
